Vintage French Celluloid Cutout Pin ~ Courting Couple
I love these vintage celluloid cutout frame pins, as the subjects are quite varied and grouped together, make a great little collection. This one features a courtly musician with lute, serenading his lady love. Rope twist brass frame. Measures 2 1/8" height; though unmarked, this has the traditional French trombone closure. Condition is very good apart from some mild metal plating wear. - $50

English rose pink and pale green colors in this molded clay brooch -- very similar in appearance to the Japanese celluloids. 2 3/4" across with glued-on metal pinback. Excellent condition. - $30

Round laminated plastic or lucite clip earrings are slightly convex, with cut-through star design and multi-colored pastel rhinestones. There is a frosty layer over a transparent layer of plastic. 1 1/4" diameter, excellent condition. - $35

This thick and chunky lucite owl pin is so cute! He is nicely carved, very dimensional with the wings folding in front, tinted and painted features. Two-part pinback has a locking clasp mechanism. 3 3/4" height, up to 1/2" thick. Excellent condition apart from some tiny interior bubbles from manufacture. - $150

Well love is in the air, with my French celluloid courting couple pin, and now this one depicting two love birds. The scene is composed of two layers, set into a rope-twist brass frame. Measures 1 5/8". Unmarked, but has the traditional French trombone style closure. Good condition, with some inconspicuous spots of plating wear and corrosion on the frame. - $50
