1940's Enameled Drum Major & Majorette Fur Clips SCARCE! enameled fur clip set, circa 1940's vintage, of a marching parade drum major and majorette. (A parade horse in the same grouping can be purchased separately.) Enameling over base metal includes red and blue uniforms, black boots, pale skin tones. They carry batons and have clear rhinestone accents. Both are marked Pats Pen. Major measures 2 3/8" height; majorette is 2 1/2". Ceramic and Copper African Mask Set
African tribal mask pin and screwback earring set is done in copper and glazed ceramic. Circa 1940's, probably made by Elzac or a similar California Pottery company. Pieces have dangling spiral earrings. Brooch measures 2 1/2" tall; earrings are 7/8". I could only find one flaw -- a tiny chip in the top of one of the earrings. Otherwise excellent condition. - $85

Enameled Blackamoor Warrior Pin
Extraordinary, beautifully made blackamoor warrior pin, circa 1940's. Copper-plated potmetal with colorful enameling and rhinestones. The shield is covered with teensy blue crystals, and clear stones are in the collar. Such attention to detail !! -- down to the little hoop earring in his ear. 3 3/4" height; excellent condition. - $245
Mazer ? Enameled Flower Seller Fur Clip
This wonderful 3 1/4" double-pronged fur clip is from the 1940's and depicts an exotically costumed blackamoor flower seller. Although unmarked, it is either Mazer or an extremely well-done copy from the same time period. (A signed version with different colors is depicted in Brunialti's costume jewelry reference book A Tribute to America: Costume Jewelry 1935 - 1950. Whereas the Brunialti example is primarily enameled in black, this fur clip is enameled brown and has other enamel and rhinestone color differences.) This is truly a masterfully crafted piece, of rich detail and good quality. There are so many different colors of enameling in the clothing and floral details; the lady's garments are set with tiny yellow rhinestones, and other colorful rhinestones are set into the flowers, her headdress, earrings and costume. The base metal is nicely finished on the back, although I am not sure whether the plating is rhodium as it is not quite as shiny as other rhodium pieces I've seen. Condition is excellent with enameling, plating and rhinestones intact. Another View - $1575

Enameled 1940's Pin ~ Flower Cart Girl
Unsigned enameled figural pin is beautifully made and features a girl or woman pushing a flower cart. Clear rhinestone accents are set in her skirt, in the flower cart wheel and in the center of the flowers. Silvertone base metal, with riveted construction. Measures just under 2" across. This may be a Coro piece -- it has that look to it. She even has little white polka dots on her dress -- such is the attention to detail. Very nice condition apart from barely perceptible speck of enamel loss on the wheel. - $120

If you collect the pearly-faced figurals, this little girl with pigtails, blue rhinestone eyeglasses and a sly smirk will warm your heart.
