Loheed's lines did produce quite a few tropical fish theme items, although without a mark I cannot be sure that it was not produced by another maker. 2 1/4" height; glued-on metal pin back. RUBY Z CANDACE LOHEED Ceramic & Silver Bead Necklace RUBY Z CANDACE LOHEED Ceramic & Silver Bead Necklace
Big and bold beaded jewelry is back in fashion! This fabulous ceramic and sterling silver bead necklace certainly makes a statement with a goofy asymmetrical mix of colors, patterns and bead shapes. From San Francisco area artist Candace Loheed, this piece bears her signature, along with the name Ruby Z which was one of her lines of jewelry produced from the 1970s-90s. While she is well known among collectors for her production of artistic figural jewelry, she made these and regular beaded necklaces in a variety of lengths so wearer could wear more than one necklace with similar color schemes. This necklace contains several large ceramic focal beads with patterns and polka dots in black, white and teal. The center bead is flanked by a row of unglazed terra cotta type disc beads on one side, and turquoise-colored ceramic discs with a faux crackle on the other. Other beads continue the zany arrangement and colors, and there are sterling silver rounds and saucer beads. Beads are securely strung on nylon filament. Necklace measures just over 20" length with signature bead located near the metal screw-barrel clasp. Excellent condition apart from surface crazing to the white focal beads which is very common for these pieces. - $90

Parrot Pearls Ceramic Blue Morning Glories Floral Necklace Parrot Pearls Ceramic Blue Morning Glories Floral Necklace
1980s ceramic bead necklace by PARROT PEARLS features a floral theme, with floral and leaf pendants. The three central floral pendants each depict a trio of periwinkle blue flowers which I believe are morning glories. Although it's difficult to see from the photo, the clusters are three-dimensional with yellow stamens in the center. Pale green leaves are dimensional, with veining detail on the surface. Tubular and round beads are strung on nylon filament; total length is approximately 18 1/2". Parrot Pearls signature bead is located near metal screw-barrel clasp. (Parrot Pearls was owned and operated by San Francisco Bay Area artist Candace Loheed, who also created ceramic jewelry under the Ruby Z line.)

Condition is very good overall, with some breakage to the yellow stamens inside the flowers, mild fleabite chipping to a couple flower edges, mild fleabite edge chipping to some of the blue tubular beads. - $140

Elzac Ceramic Victim of Fashion Face Pin ~ Metallic Gold Soutache Braid Hair Elzac Ceramic Victim of Fashion Face Pin ~ Metallic Gold Soutache Braid Hair
This one is different yet, than the numerous Elzac face pins I've seen. Unmarked Elzac was a California Pottery company that made these whimsical ceramic pins during the 1940s, when wartime created metal shortages and inspired creative use of materials. This is one of the nicest faces I've seen, her painted features are great with long, lushes eyelashes and daring teal and mauve eyeshadow. There are just a couple specks of paint loss to the lipstick but otherwise the paint is virtually intact. Her hair is fashioned from metallic gold soutache braid, intertwined and glued into place. A suede-backed gold foil crown and a cluster of faux pearls tops her head. Unfortunately most of the pearls have lost their nacre over time and new owner may wish to replace them. I've adjusted the price because of this one detraction.

3 3/8" total height. Wood backing has some light pencil (?) notations which I can't read and have not tried to clean. Metal pin back is clean and in good working order. Back View - $80
