JUDITH HENDLER Black Lucite & Pearly Bead Necklace
Large and showy lucite necklace featuring large black cylindrical beads, large pearly round beads and smaller chrome spacer beads is unmarked Judith Hendler, a designer for Saks 5th Avenue in the 1970's/80's. A curved black tube fits around the back of the neck and hooks to the necklace at the upper side (the hook blends in easily with the rest of the design). Approximately 21" length. Pretty shade of pale pink in these molded oval plastic beads. They have a semi-translucent frosty appearance, and are graduated in size, ranging from 1/4" to 5/8". The necklace has a good heft to it. 22 1/2" length with hook and beaded chain for adjustable fit. Beautifully made vintage necklace features three draping strands of crystal and plastic beads, including blue-lavender aurora borealis crystals, baby blue beads cut in an interesting shape, and blue and white "puzzle" beads with fluted discs that fit together. Blue enameled metal caps. tiny milk white and blue crystal spacer beads add a nice detail. Clasp ends are set with clear rhinestones. Metal is silvertone. Unsigned, but of distinct quality.
